Prof. Dr. Conny R. Semiawan (6 November 1930 – 01 July 2021) was an Indonesian education figure who served as Chancellor of the State University of Jakarta and Head of the Curriculum Development Center of the Research and Development Agency (Balitbang) of the Ministry of Education and Culture of the Republic of Indonesia. In addition, she is also known as the conceptor of a learning concept called CBSA (Active Student Learning Way), which began to be implemented after the 1984. In 2015, she received a UNESCO award given to national figures who have contributed to the fields of education, culture, science, and communication. In addition, she is an educational figure who has great thoughts about pedagogy. The special edition book “Educational Thoughts of Prof. Dr. Conny R. Semiawan” aims to raise the work of several academicians, researchers, and practitioners on education in line with the thoughts of Prof. Dr. Conny R. Semiawan.
